The Collections
Welcome to my web page, and first two collections I’d like to share with you.
Railways have been a big part of my life. I’ve been photographing them for 36 years, and have worked in the rail industry almost as long.
There’s just something about trains and rail travel that has captivated me, and I’m guessing if you’re reading this, you can relate to that feeling.
Travelling by train has formed a cornerstone of our overseas travel, being able to travel through some amazing countryside and cityscapes without having to concentrate on which side of the road I should be driving makes for a great holiday.
Railways connect people and places, linking cities and towns, travelling vast distances through the countryside.
These first two series will take you from grand railway stations, in Europe and Canada to the wide open expanses of Australia. Explore both collections to be inspired to travel, and marvel at the magic of rail.

While for many, walking through a railway station may be a part of the daily commute. Other times it’s a place to set out on an adventure, somewhere to join a train for a chance to relax and enjoy the passing scenery, and arrive at the next station, a portal to an exotic new location to become immersed in.

Iron Highways
Parallel rails on sleepers of timber, concrete or steel spread to almost all corners of the world. Carrying passengers, freight or even tourists, these networks keep industries and countries moving.
