Early Departure
The morning I took this photo, we were off to the Champagne region, Reims in particular, to visit some champagne houses. A comfortable day trip - easy when the first couple of hours is travelled at 320 kmh. It was a fairly early morning at Paris Gare l’Est, walking to our platform to board our train our second generation TGV caught my eye. Framed perfectly between the verandahs, quietly humming, looking fast while sitting still, the 1993 vintage locomotive has done some hard miles as evidenced by the replacement panel on its nose, but still has many more in front of it.
