Junee Sojourn

from $247.00

Some of you may have seen the stunning 1974 short film “A Steam Train Passes” featuring streamlined NSWGR locomotive, 3801. If you haven’t, I’d thoroughly recommend it.

Walking to Junee railway station in April for my first ride behind this stunning loco in almost 20 years, the iconic big verandah of the pub, and the resting locomotive reminded me of a scene in the film where two young soldiers enjoyed a beer, and rushed to catch the train as it slowly started to move off.

I’m certainly not going to claim my photography is anywhere as good as Dean Semler’s cinematography, nor is it the same location, but having had a quiet beer in the pub the night before, it seemed fitting to capture my own interpretation.
